From the Desk of Principal Wigent
“What a joyful start to the school year! Our classrooms are buzzing with learning, laughter, and life. We’re so thankful for the incredible students, dedicated staff, and supportive parents who make our school feel like family. Let’s keep our eyes on Christ as we grow together this fall — academically, spiritually, and in community.”

Elementary Students Still in Orbit
In September, Kriya Thomas directed our elementary students in the musical Out of This World. It was a fun, lighthearted show for the whole family!
What made this show extra special? Kriya herself performed in Out of This World 35 years ago — the very musical that sparked her lifelong love for the stage. Watching, her daughter step into the same role that inspired her all those years ago became a full-circle moment!

Shout-out to Officer Nutt!

Staff Spotlight
We are deeply thankful for Officer John Nutt, who serves faithfully as our on-campus security officer. His presence brings not only safety but peace of mind to our students, staff, and families.
“I find joy in protecting those who cannot protect themselves, and I feel called by God to serve by protecting.” ~ Officer Nutt
A note about security on the CHS campus.
Our hearts are heavy following the recent tragedies at schools across our country. We lift those communities in prayer and stand with them in grief and faith.
In response to national events and our ongoing commitment to your children’s safety, CHS has made significant security upgrades this year, including:
- A strengthened partnership with Officer Nutt and local authorities
- Additional secure access points
- Updated communication systems
- Expanded staff training for crisis response

Education Spotlight: The Principle Approach®
The Principle Approach® methodology employed at CHS places God’s Word at the foundation of all learning. In all our instruction, we present God as intimately and directly involved in the lives of individuals, in the history of nations, and in all aspects of life and learning. The Principle Approach® is rooted in seven key principles.
Principle One: God’s Principle of Individuality
This principle recognizes that everything in creation gives evidence to God’s infinity, diversity, and individuality. At CHS, we seek to reveal the Creator in all we teach, whether it be in the absolutes of mathematics, the marvels of science, the elegance of language, or the beauty of art and music.
Standing apart from all creation are individuals who possess an independent and intrinsic value. At CHS, we celebrate the divine design of each student, a precious person created in God’s Image and endowed with unique giftings. We are dedicated to seeing our students fully express these gifts in their lives for the glory of God.
For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. (Romans 11:36)
The Principle Approach® is a registered trademark of the Foundation for American Christian Education.
